If you work in a regulated profession, think nurse, doctor, architect, pilot, etc, I have an important message for you. Please keep your professional registration up to date. It might sound like a no-brainer, but I’ve advised on tens of cases where professionals have not renewed on time. Let me tell you, a registration lapse has serious implications. Some worse than others. For instance, your employer may redeploy you to an unqualified role with less pay. Often, a lot less. Or, worse, suspension without pay if no role is available. Reinstating your professional registration can take several weeks, perhaps longer. All these consequences (and more) are avoidable if you renew on time. Need help?
